Nan Goldin is a photographer and celebrated contemporary artist. The documentary shows Goldin’s life, career and activism through unique footage, personal interviews and her groundbreaking photography. Goldin shows that art can be a weapon and today takes on the Sackler family, whom she holds responsible for her addiction to the painkiller Oxycontin. While this crisis continues to claim victims on a daily basis, the Sackler family remains major sponsors of important museums worldwide. Goldin’s battle helps her find a place for her own grief.
