A heartwarming Irish coming-of-age story featuring Christy, a boy on the threshold of adulthood. After his foster family kicks him out, he moves to the working-class neighbourhood of his brother Shane and his young family in Cork. The brothers haven’t seen each other for a long time, and Shane initially considers Christy’s arrival to be temporary. But as Christy slowly begins to feel at home, he discovers a small, close-knit community that embraces him. At the same time, he is confronted with influences from his past. Together, the brothers must face their turbulent past and make choices about what their future might look like.
With a great deal of love for the local community, Christy is an authentic and surprisingly funny portrait of a group of warm people who have sought out too much coldness.
