12-year-old Dalva (Zelda Samson) was 5 when her father kidnapped her. When one day she is taken away by the police from yet another house she lives in, she does not understand why. The years of manipulations, isolation and lies have given the brainwashed child a totally wrong worldview. Dalva is an impressive film about an interrupted childhood.
Belgian filmmaker Emmanuelle Nicot’s debut feature was voted best film by international film critics in two major subsidiary sections at Cannes: La Quinzaine des Realisateurs and La Semaine de la Critique. At the FIFF Namur, Dalva won no less than three prizes.
