When Ana and Mateo drive through a forest, the tension is tangible. Ana wants to drive on, but her husband insists on turning around. Gradually, it becomes clear that moments before, they briefly left their seven-year-old son by the side of the road as punishment to teach him a lesson after he had misbehaved badly. When they return to that place, they find only his cap: their son has disappeared.

Both blame each other for his disappearance and increasingly uncomfortable truths come to light as the couple wonder if they have failed as parents.
