Julia, 29, is an ambitious casting agent who moves to Brussels after a break-up. Behind a façade of success and self-confidence, she hides her inner doubts. She meets Eliott, 32, a discreet and reserved microbiologist who is about to leave for Greenland to conduct research on lichens. Their worlds are diametrically opposed, but an unexpected friendship develops. When Julia gets the job of her life, the pressure mounts. A great opportunity is also a descent into hell. She crosses the boundaries she had set for herself, including those with Eliott. Leni Huyghe has made several short films and in 2020 collaborated on the documentary J’attendrai le jour et la nuit about the COVID crisis in residential care homes. Real Faces is her first feature film as a director. The film had its world premiere at the SXSW Festival in Texas.
