For years, 29-year-old Scottish Rona (Saoirse Ronan) has lived in London, where hectic city life has consumed her. Caught in a spiral of alcohol and drugs, she decides to put her physical and mental health first. To overcome her addiction, she returns to the Orkney Islands, where she grew up. There, memories of her childhood mingle with the shadows of her London existence. As she gets carried away by the rugged nature, the wind and the sea show her the way to recovery.
