Fernando is a quiet geography teacher whose life is turned upside down when his wife returns to her native Serbia without explanation. Feeling lost, he decides to head to Portugal. Following an unexpected turn of events, he takes a job as a gardener on the estate of the enigmatic Amália. Surrounded by the beauty of the countryside, Fernando gradually comes to terms with his loss.
Through understated imagery and unhurried observations, director Avelina Prat explores themes such as loss, loneliness and the longing to escape. *Una quinta portuguesa* is a subtle reflection on who we are when no one knows our past.
We will close the festival with drinks!
