In Mexico in the late 1980s, young Roberta films her family: seven women from three generations living under the same roof, in a house burdened by debt. Protected by her childlike perspective, Roberta is barely aware of what is going on around her. She is busy preparing for a talent show.
The film is loosely based on director Mayra Hermosillo’s childhood memories. She interweaves intimate family drama with moments of humour, warmth and tenderness. This creates a poetic and melancholic-sweet view of how a resilient family supports each other in times of economic uncertainty.
