Yellow Letters
Aziz, a professor at Ankara University, receives the ‘yellow letter’ informing him arbitrarily that he is being dismissed. When his wife Derya, a famous actress at the national theatre, also receives such a letter, it is the final blow for the couple. Both are condemned for their ideas and have to seek refuge with Aziz’s mother in Istanbul. The compromise between this new uncertain situation and their political commitment puts their marriage to the test.
The film won the Golden Bear at the 2026 Berlinale.
