Maayii ميّي

During their residency at BUDA, they will focus on the exploration of movement, voice, text, and singing. This working period will allow them to deepen the dramaturgical structure of the piece and further refine the choreography in dialogue with the sound composition. They will also continue developing the relationship between experimental soundscapes and movement vocabularies, which lies at the core of their creative process.

Kongi Milka Mbunga (DRC), Nancy Naser Al Deen (LB/EG) & Yang Cheng (TW)

Kongi Milka Mbunga, Yang Cheng, and Nancy Naser Al Deen are multidisciplinary performance artists based in Europe whose work navigates questions of diaspora, memory, and collective resistance. Through movement, voice, and experimental sound, they explore ritual, repetition, and embodied practices as tools for transnational solidarity and decolonial healing. Their collaborative piece Maayii ميّي reflects on anger, love, and liberation in a world shaped by colonial histories and shared struggles.
