The young survivor Spike (played by Alfie Williams) finds himself unwillingly drawn into a violent, extremist cult led by the malevolent and terrifying \u2018Sir Lord\u2019 Jimmy Crystal (Jack O\u2019Connell). This storyline shows that in a collapsed world, the greatest danger often comes not from the zombies, but from humanity itself. Meanwhile, Dr Ian Kelson (Ralph Fiennes) makes a revolutionary discovery. He manages to establish an unexpected connection with Samson, a so-called <em>Alpha Infected<\/em> (an infected individual who appears to be more intelligent or dominant than the rest).
