{"id":20552,"date":"2023-06-06T11:58:10","date_gmt":"2023-06-06T09:58:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.buda.be\/voorstelling\/i-too-overflow\/"},"modified":"2023-06-06T11:58:10","modified_gmt":"2023-06-06T09:58:10","slug":"i-too-overflow","status":"publish","type":"voorstelling","link":"https:\/\/www.buda.be\/en\/voorstelling\/i-too-overflow\/","title":{"rendered":"I, Too, Overflow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>From collective conversation to public sculpture<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Feminist author H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Cixous wrote <em>I, too, overflow<\/em> in her influential essay <em>The Laugh of Medusa<\/em>, in which she advocated \u00e9criture f\u00e9minine<em>,<\/em> a radically new form of expression and significance. Inspired by Cixous, \u00c8ve Gabriel Chabanon spoke for an entire year with women and non-binary individuals from in and around Kortrijk. How do they relate to topics like identity? How do they experience (the place of) their body in public spaces? What potential do they see in building up a feminist legacy and matrimony for themselves as well as for their surroundings?<\/p>\n<p>Based on workshops with the participants, Chabanon will create a public sculpture that reflects the participants\u2019 knowledge and skills. The sculpture, which will be unveiled at <em>Almost Summer<\/em>, constitutes a physical reminder of feminism in Kortrijk.
