In Les oiseaux choreographer Lenio Kaklea takes her inspiration from the behaviour of birds – their dance, their song, their battle to be seen. Just like in the sometimes striking courtship rituals the seven dancers on stage show their unique flair within a collective rhythm, swinging between human and animal, freedom and control.

But where does freedom begin and where does control sneak in ? Lenio Kaklea and her flying dancers take you along in a movement through space and time like migrating birds that cross country borders. From a bird’s eye view she takes a sharp look at our society – one in which identity, visibility and power are shifting continuously.
