Sharing Hardships Accords Resonant Experiences (S.H.A.R.E)

S.H.A.R.E. (Sharing Hardships Accords Resonant Experiences) is a speculative novel that blends storytelling with community critique. The artistic expressions stemming from this text—performances and plays—will serve to spark transformative dialogues with the audience and peers. Through these exchanges, Manster hopes to address central themes such as homophobia, serophobia, racism, and issues of agency, drawing on his experience in community organizing to define new frameworks for collective creation.

During his stay at BUDA Manster will focus on organizing and planning of a 6 month period of research for his project S.H.A.R.E. This research examines how a visual artist can explore performance through speculative fiction and community collaboration. Using an autoethnographic approach, he seeks to highlight any new forms that emerge when performance becomes a method of investigation rather than merely a means of expression.

Manny Manster (MEX)

Manny Manster (Emmanuel Cortés) is a Mexican-American artist whose work is based on agency. Manster incorporates his personal social anxieties into his work, embracing chaos and imperfection as spaces of truth. He integrates Mexican-American folklore through anecdotes, humor, and music in performances, while Mexican aesthetics appear as unexpected flares in his drawings and textiles.
