During his residency, Volmir Cordeiro is working on a new piece, CHER FOU / DEAR FOOL. The first week is primarily devoted to choreographic research. During the second week, he will also focus on the sounds and soundscape that will accompany the performance.

Cher Fou is an intimate cabaret-gallery, the setting for an invisible exchange of letters: a letter addressed to madness, written with the body, stammered words, music or even deafening silences. A true theatrical distillation in which live performance, visual art and the spirit of arte povera come together.

The premiere is scheduled for NEXT 2027.

DONNA VOLCAN / Volmir Cordeiro (FR/BR)

Volmir Cordeiro, Brazilian dancer, choreographer and researcher, first trained in theatre before turning to contemporary dance and collaborating with major figures in Brazil and then in France from 2011 onwards. His works, initially solos exploring marginalised bodies, and later collective pieces such as L’œil, la bouche et le reste, Trottoir or Parterre (2025), are characterised by raw physical intensity and an aesthetic of emergence and metamorphosis, developed within his company Donna Volcan. An award-winning artist-researcher (SACD Prize 2021) and international teacher, he is currently associate artist of the Master Exerce at Agora – CCN Montpellier.
