Madeleine Fournier & ODETTA
Branle
Het startpunt van deze creatie is de bourree met twee tellen, een traditionele groepsdans uit het Franse Centraal Massief. Branle neemt de vorm van een bal aan – een ruimte waarin dans en muziek samenkomen, maar die ook specifieke gevoelens oproept en laat circuleren.
Choreografe Madeleine Fournier is gefascineerd door de oneindige herhaling in de muziek en choreografie van de bourree. Die roept zowel een gevoel van stilstand als transformatie op, alsof het heden zich voortdurend vernieuwt in een poging de eeuwigheid te benaderen. Begeleid door dansers en muzikanten brengt Fournier je in een trance terecht – de toestand waarin het verborgene zich openbaart. Branle daalt af naar de gebaren en affecten uit ons collectieve onderbewustzijn.
