Arts Centre BUDA is looking for a: VERSATILE STAGE TECHNICIAN & FACILITIES MANAGER (M/F/X)

Who are we?
Arts Centre BUDA (Kortrijk) is the largest workspace in Flanders for local and international performing artists. We run two performing arts festivals, operate an arthouse cinema, stimulate cross-sectoral projects, and increasingly co-create with other organisations. On an annual basis, around 300 artists work across 80 residencies in the BUDA studios, and we welcome about 80,000 visitors for film, theatre, dance, lectures, guided tours, and festivals.
Who are you?
You go through life as a creative tech enthusiast with a heart for culture and a passion for dance, theatre, performance, and film. You love technological evolutions in sound, light, and video, and you gladly bring order to chaos. You are a quick decision-maker and an enthusiastic doer. You enjoy engaging in dialogue with artists and love turning technical problems into practical solutions.
As a jack-of-all-trades, you are not afraid to fix infrastructural or logistical issues on the spot—or call in the right specialist when needed. You have an affinity with contemporary performing arts and the work created in the BUDA studios. You fully endorse BUDA’s mission and Fair Practice Charter, always keeping the artist at the centre of what you do.
What does this mean in practice?
As a Versatile Stage Technician & Facilities Manager at BUDA, you will:

Support artists on the floor during the creation and development of new theatre and dance productions.

Handle technical build-ups and breakdowns during festivals (Almost Summer, NEXT, Perplx Vitrine, etc.).

Maintain theatre-technical equipment alongside your colleagues and regularly handle maintenance work in the residency houses and theatres.

Quickly build an in-depth technical and infrastructural knowledge of Budascoop, serving as the primary point of contact for the facility management of both Budascoop and Budatoren.

Gladly find in-house or external solutions for practical issues involving electricity, heating, water, and more.
What are we looking for in a new colleague?

Practical knowledge of and experience with light, sound, and video techniques within the performing arts and cultural infrastructure.

A service-oriented mindset dedicated to supporting artists (and their creative process), along with an affinity for the work created at BUDA.

Strong communication skills; you are assertive, stress-resistant, and a true team player.

A proactive approach, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to precision (even under tight deadlines).

The necessary flexibility, including a willingness to work evenings and weekends.

Fluency in spoken and written Dutch and English, with a basic understanding of French.
