anger angels ETERNAL LETDOWN
anger angels ETERNAL LETDOWN is the first collaboration between performance artists Sophía Rodríguez (VE/BE) and Teresa Vittucci (AT/CH). In this hypnotic, humorous and visceral performance they explore anger as a transformative force.
Set within a surreal, corporate-inspired landscape, two angelic messengers navigate and process human rage. Through movement and voice, they confront the repression of femme anger, creating unexpected entanglements with the scenography, the audience and each other.
Teresa Vittucci (AT/CH)
Teresa Vittucci is a Vienna-born artist based in Zurich since 2015. Their work in contemporary dance performance explores feminist and queer perspectives on pop culture, history and religion, with subversive humor as a key element.
Teresa is an associate artist at Tanzhaus Zürich and a guest lecturer at the Zurich University of the Arts and the Bern University of the Arts. They are recognized as one of the most significant voices in Switzerland’s contemporary performing arts landscape. Their physical, confrontational and deeply personal artistic signature not only resonates with Rodríguez’s practice, but also holds a key place within the Belgian performing arts landscape.
Sophía Rodríguez (VE/BE)
Sophía Rodríguez is an actor, dancer, choreographer and circus artist. She studied circus, dance and physical theatre in Venezuela (Universidad Experimental de las Artes), Cuba (Cuban National Circus School) and Switzerland (Accademia Dimitri). Her long-term exchange and training with David Zambrano has had a strong influence on her artistic practice.
As a maker, she uses physical performance, embodied knowledge, voice and improvisation as building blocks for energetic, feminist and critical performances that always exist on the borders between disciplines.
In 2023, Friction, her first ensemble work, premiered. The piece investigates the act of friction as a strategy to shed psychological and cultural baggage that prevents connection. It was presented at Toneelhuis, VIERNULVIER, BUDA, Charleroi Danse and Festival de la Cité (CH), and will continue touring, including at the New Europe International Festival in Warsaw.
