Dear artists we’ve loved so much

3ème vague

Dear artists we’ve loved so much is a dialogue of love and questions between the three members of the 3ème vague collective, and the tutelary figures who have marked our careers. They will be writing a letter to fifty artists, entering into a dialogue with them, and asking them about their relationship to artistic creation in this time of ecological crisis. The answers they receive will take the form of a scenic audio transcription, with political and aesthetic viewpoints that are sometimes concordant, sometimes antagonistic. For their residency in BUDA,  they will come to reflect and to work around the performative and book-formats.

3ème vague

3ème Vague is a Brussels-based group, active since 2019. Bringing together artists Léa Tarral, Aurélien Leforestier and Maxime Arnould, it questions the practices of political ecology in the performing arts sector. By political ecology, we do not mean ‘environmental protection’, but the study of a given environment, its modes of production and the impact of capitalist fiction on the art field.

Their interventions tend to give rise to practices, reflections and working tools through performances, publications and encounters between art workers, activists, audiences and institutions. 3ème vague is not a performance project, but a group mobilized around our need for change by proposing alternatives to the habits of our work environment.
