Diafragma
Drawing on mysticism, minimal and durational music, and practices of active passivity (Éliane Radigue, Pauline Oliveros, Maria Zambrano, Fanny Howe, Simone Weil, Sufi sama’), Diafragma will explore stillness as pleasure and ecstasy as suspension. Voice and body will emerge frictional, suspended, or reversed—moving backwards, the voice inhaled rather than exhaled—creating a sonic field where the distinction between sound and silence thins.
During their residency they will enjoy the pleasure of researching without producing. They will continue expanding on the choreographic and vocalization practices coming from my previous research (hollow – 2025), from somatic practices such as Contiuum Movement and from the collaboration with voice composer Yannick Guédon, filmmaker Ester M. Bergsmark and performer and musician Loucka Fiagan.
