Stephanie Kayal and Abed Kobeissy will kick off the studio work on their upcoming creation Galatic Crush 2: Into the Cold, the second opus in the tribulations of two Don Quixote-like anti-heroes, friends and lovers, who decide to flee the mass exodus and global crisis in an intergalactic DIY spaceship. This residency will mainly focus on Music and choreographic research.

Stephanie Kayal is a performance artist, choreographer and dancer based in Beirut. In recent years, she has collaborated as a performer with several artists and companies with whom she performed in Beirut, Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Chile, Tunisia, Egypt and Jordan. Her second creation Galactic Crush premiered at NEXT Festival 2022.

Abed Kobeissy is a Beirut-based electro-acoustic musician. Using the Levantine buzuq as his main instrument, his music has a local identity without claiming to be traditional or ethnic. His music is based on the local urban soundscape and often deals with topics related to family and home.

With absurd and sharp humour, their collective work conveys themes of political despair, hope and survival, blurring the lines between fiction and reality.
