Kid Kokko & Meri Ekola (FI)
I am standing in this light, dim, hazy, it’s hazy, amorphous, or, some shapes appear, here, in the darkness, some thoughts, words, grammars, not yet here, here, dim light, haze

For Kid Kokko (they/he) and Meri Ekola (she/her), it is essential to acknowledge what they give space to with their actions. In this residency, they are experimenting how to give space to materials, to atmospherical appearances, to connections, to time that is passing, how to pay attention to these instances in a performance context.
This work happens without a pressure to follow a production process, by asking questions that they usually do not have time for in a stricter framework. Working with body presence, material presence, haze, light, time we aim to find, name and try out practices that expands our understanding of how the space of a performance can be shared. The work continues in Teatteri Takomo, Helsinki, Finland, fall 2025.
Kid Kokko & Meri Ekola (FI)
Kid Kokko has experience with entering the materiality of experiences through words, space and their body, building space in between the suppressive structures of power, being there and making them disappear sternly but softly.
Meri Ekola spends time imagining possible scenarios how materials could meet a long time before being able to bring them to life, how the transformative power of sensorial elements such as light could be experienced.
By bringing their expression and skills in interaction, they have built epic encounters with audiences, such as performances How to host something as a cloud (2019) and Disappearing – a passion (2021-22).
