The nyamnyam residency at BUDA is not conceived solely as a space for artistic production, but rather as an infrastructural residency focusing on reflection and the exchange of practices.

The residency offers a framework for reflecting on the development and implications of artistic practices from a critical perspective that considers not only creation, but also dialogue with other disciplines, institutions, and communities. Thus, beyond the production of artistic projects, it fosters the creation of new collaborative networks, the exchange of knowledge and experiences, and collective reflection on methodologies and processes in contemporary artistic work.

Ariadna Rodriguez & Iñaki Alvarez (nyamnyam) (ES)

Ariadna Rodriguez and Iñaki Alvarez are nyamnyam. In the crossroads of live and visual arts, critical thought and pedagogies, nyamnyam’s work moves between the creation of projects and curatorship understood as a transdisciplinary space for relationship and disruption. After eight years hosting a space in Barcelona, in 2019, they opened the doors of Espai nyamnyam in the small village of Mieres (Girona); a space for research and creation around contemporary artistic practices in the scope of degrowth.
