REBUS (the map is not the territory) is a loosely participatory solo performance. Yet it cannot really be a true solo. The performance seeks encounters in a world that feels divided and broken. From these loose parts, she attempts to create a new story.

During her residency at BUDA, Elena Bastogi will work on the dramaturgy and performativity of her new creation, further developing and refining the elements that are already present in the performance. In addition, she will focus on the relational aspects of the performance, attempting to initiate real-time dialogues with the audience and increase their involvement.

Elena Bastogi (IT)

Elena Bastogi works across theatre, dance, and performance. She graduated in visual arts (Milan), then attended PACAP 2 at Forum Dança (Lisbon), a Master in Gender Studies (Rome) and the Master Exerce program at the CCN of Montpellier. Her interest gathers around the relation with language and sense-making, both in terms of thinking processes and of how they operate on emotional, relational and social levels. The intention of her work is to make this productive mechanism explicit by stimulating awareness through a seriously playful attitude.
