Sara werkte de voorbije jaren geregeld bij kunstencentrum BUDA. In maart 2016 startte ze haar nieuwe onderzoeksproject Spectacles in onze studio's. In januari en februari 2017 komt Sara terug om haar project af te ronden.

Spectacles is een langlopend onderzoek over de vreemde relatie tussen dans en taal. Spectacles zijn geschreven teksten, interviews en 3D films rond vragen als: Wat zijn de limieten van taal om het over esthetische ervaringen te hebben? Hoe te spreken over dans? Welke taal functioneert als een choreografie?

Sara Manente studied dance and semiotics before moving to Brussels, where she works as an artist and researcher. Drawing on the imagery and matter of living cultures and mycelium brought into relation with live arts, her projects reflect on the possibility of cross-pollination between pedagogy, research, performance and publication. The result can take different forms: from an installation or performance to a magazine.
