In Something is Approaching, Carolina Mendonça and her team investigate the notion of violence through writing and muscular rumination. What type of stories are stuck to our muscles that can be released by a bullet? Can our muscles dream of less violent narratives in a world that is collapsing? In this residency at BUDA they will rehearse the piece and work with technical aspects of it. The piece will premiere on 20 June during Almost Summer Festival in Kortrijk/Courtrai!

Carolina Mendonça has a Master in Choreography and Performance from Giessen University in Germany and graduated in Performing Arts at ECA-USP in Brazil. Her most recent project isZones of Resplendence (2023), that speculates around feminist perspectives on violence. For her next piece Something is Approaching, she will work with Lara Ferrari Tummma (AR), Leticia Skrycky (UR), Laura Salerno (BR) and Carolina Bianchi (BR).
