With this residency at BUDA newpolyphonies initiates KINOTITA, an international platform for female composers working with.in big groups. During the first half of the residence the core members of Kinotita engage in a laboratory for tool sharing; the second half is dedicated to the exchange between Glossa and YouYou Group as a first step into the new creation Titans.

Titans is a large scale vocal performance exploring myth, collective power, and transformation through the human voice. Using the concept of sonic fiction, the work transforms monumental and architectural spaces into resonant environments shaped by collective sound. The project investigates how individual voices merge into a shared force and how a voice can become a titan.

During the residency at BUDA, the directors team will develop and align shared vocal practices and compositional tools. From February 20 onwards, members of YouYou Group and Glossa will join for collective research, rehearsals, and exchanges. The residency will focus on vocal experimentation, spatial work, and early scene development for Titans.

YouYou Group is a Brussels based community of voice practitioners creating performances, films, and installations across Europe for more than a decade. Rooted in non-normative and ancestral vocal practices, the group is known for transforming architectural and public spaces into sonic sculptures through collective voice and ritual based approaches. YouYou Group is represented by newpolyphonies, a Brussels and artist-run production structure for voice art.

Γλωσσα (Glossa) is a Cologne based vocal ensemble and laboratory bringing together amateur and professional performers to explore the individual voice within collective practice. Since 2020, the group has worked in public spaces and landscapes, questioning vocal norms, stereotypes, and degrees of freedom through shared experimentation and site specific scores.
