Jimena Pérez Salerno (AR)
What has been stored
What has been stored is an ongoing choreographic research by Jimena Pérez Salerno, where she explores the voice as storage. Drawing on early-life sonic and physical memories the performance awakens not only nostalgia but also ways to re-sensualize the bond with adulthood in a world that is falling apart.
How can tenderness become an act of refusal against a world we no longer wish to inhabit as it is?
The work seeks for a collective state of listening by opening a space that acknowledges the absences, memories, and lives that precede and follow us.
During her first residency at BUDA, Jimena will continue her research focusing on sound and conceptual work.
During her second residency, Jimena will focus on the potential sound dramaturgy for her choreographic concert project, where movement and sound intertwine. She will explore early aesthetic experiments with what she calls active somatic partners alongside Stef assandri, and begin the first steps of the sound composition in collaboration with Myriam Pruvot, who also joins as vocal advisor.
