From 7 to 21 June, discover the new generation of young (inter)national theatre makers and performers in and around Budascoop Kortrijk. For the seventh time, arts centre BUDA is organising this performance festival, but it is the first all-female edition and that has everything to do with this year’s theme.
While each year an invisible thread connects the performances of the Almost Summer Festival, this edition focuses on the nature of the ties that unite us — between friends, families, bodies, and generations. What lies between us and makes us be together? What are alternatives to the nuclear family? How do we shape our relationships? How do we care for each other in this diverse society? What is the value of motherhood/parenthood?
We start the festival with a makers’ market for creative Kortrijkzanen, present several premieres of emerging talent and organise a Feminist School where artists and audience engage in conversation and share experiences.
