A contemporary tribute to our dancing ancestors
A ritual folk dance that turns into a rock-hard rave? For the opening performance, choreographer and dancer Jenna Jalonen delves into the dance history to explore the role of the circle in contemporary dance. Eight dancers take you on a tour of folklore, French cancan and club parties. Elements from medieval European folk dances merge with Middle Eastern circle dances to create an intriguing new form to a thumping electronic rhythm. Coming full circle.
