CUBO

All-rounder Stanley Ollivier asked himself a question: how would communities of colour engage with existing choreography? Instead of looking for the answer, he simply created it himself: a performance written in a dance language with intimacy, body and the creation of a safe space as its grammar.

Stanley Ollivier starts from the power of communities of people of colour and explores how they can redefine existing choreography. Together with Lily Brieu Nguyen and Mamadou Wagué, he explores everyday reality and social change through a dance language that reveals the relationship between intimacy, body and the creation of a safe space.

Stanley Ollivier is a French/Caribbean Brussels based artist. They studied in the International Dance Academy Of Paris (AID), the CNSMDP in Paris, and in P.A.R.T.S (BE). They previously worked for different productions and international artists such as: Soa Ratsifandrihana, Cie Tabea Martin, Lasseindra Lanvin, Geert Belpaeme, Calixto Neto, Iván Pérez, Brahim Tall, among others. He has created the performances PARADE (2021), The Mirror Stand (2022), and Just A Taste (2024). Likewise, Stanley is a DJ resident at Kiosk Radio, and the co-founder of the broadcast Entwined.
