Kevin and Jacopo will research physical material for partnered dancing. Practices of pranayama (i.e. yogic breathing) as well as scores for touch and weight will guide them as they develop interactive, polyrhythmic scores called ‘moving conversations’.

Also, open, performative reading circles will be offered to the public, and traces from ‘conversing with masculinity’ circles (2020 – present) will influence the work’s trajectory.

Kevin Fay & Jacopo Buccino (US/IT)

Kevin Fay (he/him), B.A., Dance & Communication Studies, Northwestern University. Since moving to Brussels in 2016, he’s worked as a performer with Veli Lehtovaara, Fabrice Samyn, Eric Minh Cuong Castaing, Eleanor Bauer, Marc Vanrunxt – Kunst/Werk, and Olga de Soto. In September 2020, Kevin received a scholarship from the Flemish Authorities to conduct a research project on the subjects of masculinity, feminism, language, and the body. In this, he is grateful for support from BUDA, RoSa vzw, Pianofabriek, H401 (NL), wpZimmer, CAMPO, Viernulvier, Tanzquartier Wien (AT), and the research platform, bitės (LT).

Jacopo Buccino (he/they) graduated in 2019 from the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp with a degree in contemporary dance. While there, they were an Erasmus student at the Danish National School of Performing Arts. Since then, they have worked and collaborated with Francesca Chiodi Latini, Tout Petit, and Roberto Castello. Within recent years, they have also managed to cultivate their own artistic voice – producing a solo work called “Grand Finale” in which they explored Love. In the last year, they collaborated with the project of Ne Mosquito Pas, and since 2019, they have worked closely with Engagement Arts, focusing on education. In 2021, with Anneleen Lemmens, they co-wrote the article, Thank you for your complaint, as part of the publication School of Equals.
