Léa Drouet’s new creation J’ai une épée (I have a sword) approaches representations of “the child”. The director and performer is less interested in “looking at children” according to a logic which, under the guise of new attention to be given, remains that of targeting identities, but begins by “looking at how we look at children”. What are the “surroundings” of childhood? What form does the way in which children are observed and represented give to them, particularly by the institutions that are supposed to protect, educate and “supervise” them? What “frameworks” exist, and what changes can be made so that childhood has a place to exist?

During this first residency, the team will put together the first elements of the research and organise a first cross between the different bodies of the performance: sound, text, body and light.
