“DISQUIET is een verderzetting van mijn onderzoek naar hardcoretechno bodypolitics, dat ik in 2014 aanving. Door hardcore techno dansen te onderzoeken en beleven, wil ik hun politieke potentieel aantonen. Met politiek verwijs ik naar bodypolitics: Hoe een belichaamde ervaring door machtsverhoudingen wordt getekend en hoe deze die verhoudingen ook kan hertekenen. Na gabber in mijn stukken Softcore en Camouflaging Kelly, breid ik mijn vocabularium nu uit met jungle, drum-'n-bass en andere technovarianten die zich hardcore noemen.”

Lisa Vereertbrugghen is a Brussels-based choreographer, teacher, dramaturg and researcher. Since 2014, she has been researching hardcore techno dance styles in various formats: performances, lecture-performances, performance installations and publications. She previously worked at arts centre BUDA on The performance formerly known as performance, The Extraordinary Way She Moves and Softcore, a hardcore encounter. While we are here is her first group choreo.
