Can we experience dance without corporeality or embodiment?

REACh. REACh. & Collabs. question the central role of corporeality and embodiment in dance by creating hybrid (live/digitized and virtual) installations that combine human and AI (artificial intelligence) choreography. During our residency in Kortrijk we further develop and test our new choreographer/ software Nervous Systems v.3. Klaas Devos (BE) with Quentin Meurisse & Justine de Baene (FR)

Klaas Devos is a choreographer and researcher in the arts fascinated by perception, hypersensitivity and chronometry – or the nature and speed of our impulses to sensory stimuli. After his studies at a.pass and PARTS, he has been engaged in a practice-based doctorate in dance and choreography entitled ‘Thinking Bodies in Dance’ at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp (ond. group Corporeal and CREATIE) and the University of Antwerp (ond. group ARIA) since 2020. This project is developed in close collaboration with a technical and artistic network, REACh. & Collabs.
