Variations on Tenderness
Variations on Tenderness is a creation by three queer artists – two choreographers and dancers and a musician – who use their bodies, voices, thoughts, attention and presence to jointly explore the Territory of Tenderness.
At BUDA, they are undertaking an initial technical residency involving costumes and lighting.
cie NO DRAMA
The NO DRAMA company comprises Pol Pi, Nitsan Margaliot, Antoine Mermet, Rima Ben Brahim and Edmée Petit.
Pol Pi is a Brazilian trans choreographer who has lived in France since 2013. He is interested in a broader approach to dance, exploring memory and temporality, language and translation, and the concept of ‘archive’ in dance, with a particular fondness for site-specific work.
Nitsan Margaliot is a choreographer, performer and curator based in Berlin who explores queer archives, alter-enactments and vulnerable encounters.
Antoine Mermet is a musician, composer, improviser and multidisciplinary artist active in the fields of concert music, dance, theatre, visual arts and performance. He has developed his own style for saxophone, vocals and electronic instruments, utilising both the melodic and experimental potential of these instruments.
After studying photography, Rima Ben Brahim discovered her passion for the performing arts during an internship at the Montpellier Dance Festival. In 2007, she obtained a degree in electrical engineering and devoted herself to lighting, a craft she taught herself.
Edmée Petit operates at the intersection of different worlds. In 2017, she graduated as a bioengineer and in 2022 she obtained a PhD in plant biology. Since 2010, she has simultaneously been exploring working with materials through various plastic and digital media. She is largely self-taught and incorporates natural materials and craftsmanship to tell human and non-human stories.
