‘FERAL’ means wild(ered). Four different staged landscapes flow into each other throughout the performance. Each of these landscapes does something to the dancers and exposes the different relationships of the individuals to the group and to their surroundings.

As the piece unrolls, the landscapes slowly crumble, becoming filthy, lavish, toxic, monstrous, repulsive but also charming. Successively, the stage becomes a void, a dump, a synthetic desert and a horizon.

The performers change from garish, deviant figures to lifeless, hollowed-out surfaces. Places where eccentric figures inhabit and lifeless, hollowed-out surfaces – strange but precise in their body movements and their presence.

‘While we are here’ explores the timeless desire to dance collectively hard. This five-dancer group performance brings together underground technoraves with folkloric group dances that emphasise fun and togetherness.

A boundless, hybrid technofolk, a rowdy folk that celebrates mutual differences. A soft folk, a folk that chooses to dance intimately together. A stray folk not situated in time or space. With no nostalgia for the past and no specific future in mind, here we are, dancing in spirals and circles, facing each other and another place on the horizon.
