In  this workshop we would like to dive into the meanings we give to « grief ». Through reading, questionings and talking , we’d like to guide you through a timespace where to unfold your language of grief and mourning, and reflect on the way we relate to loss, absence, disappearance, powerlessness in our life. What meaning do we give to them? How much can we let them affect us?

We want to offer a space that can be safe and brave, where we dare to ask and slide between intimate and reflexive, political, symbolical and pragmatical. With curiosity, openness and non-judgment we learn to deep listen to each other’s inner worlds. It’s also an invitation to embody listening, talking, reading, caring, supporting, lifting, giving, turning, [                              ] each other.

Castélie Yalombo Lilonge is a Belgian artist, graduated from ULB and the Higher Institute of Choreographic Arts of ARBA-ESA in 2020. Her artistic practice is at the intersection of choreography, installation and poeticspeech. She questions the status of identity and otherness, as well as the subject/object status of the body. Those questions find a place in a broader research on the capacity for kinesthetic empathy in the relationship of the performer to the audience.

After training at the Beaux Arts in Toulouse, Sophie Farza continued her studies at the Institut Supérieur des Arts et des Chorégraphies in Brussels, linking her visual practice to the body and movement. Her work moves between the photographic image and the object in spaces on the edge of the stage, working with materials that are worn, lifted and erased. She plays with matter and sound in creation, and brings this into resonance with a performer.
