Black Tea
On her wedding day, Aya (Nina Melo), a young woman from the Ivory Coast, leaves her fiancé at the altar. She flees to Guangzhou in China, where she finds work in Cai’s (Han Chang) tea shop. He teaches her all the secrets of the trade: from the different types of tea to the ancient traditions of tea making. When Aya and Cai fall in love, the past continues to haunt them. Also, the African community is not fully accepted in China. Aya and Cai find a shared longing with each other, but can it withstand the prejudice of their surroundings?
This is the closing film of Film Festival Mooov; there will be a reception after the film.
