Maria, 74, leads a quiet life within the close-knit Spanish community of Tangier, Morocco. Her world is turned upside down when her daughter Clara arrives from Madrid to sell the flat where she has lived her entire life. Determined to remain in the city that shaped her, Maria fights to keep her home and her memories. During that struggle, she rediscovers, to her own surprise, the power of love and desire.
This first Spanish-language film by Moroccan filmmaker Maryam Touzani (Le Bleu du Caftan) premiered at the Venice Film Festival, where it won the audience award. The film is Morocco’s Oscar entry.
