Fascinated by the lack of photographs in her own family archive, director Asmae El Moudir recreates her childhood in her father’s studio using a model of their street in Casablanca. She invites her friends and family to interact with the scene. The Mother of All Lies interweaves the director’s personal past with the political reality of 1980s Morocco, when the Bread Riots were taking place in Casablanca.
