Ingrid Berger Myhre & Lasse Passage

No Dreams, No Gold

No Dreams, No Gold

No Dreams, No Gold is a medley of possible scenarios. Each one triggered by each other in a string of digressions. With minimal means on stage (a handful of props, a couple of laptops and microphones, a clothing rack and a green screen) the show takes shape as a hörspiel, a band rehearsal, a karaoke night, a living room concert, a composition lecture, a toastmaster speech, a podcast and a campfire confession.

As the materials weave a DIY network of formats and genres, dreams and digressions – Ingrid and Lasse become each other’s licence and support, in a performance about what the theatre does best: togetherness in real and imagined places.

Ingrid Berger Myhre & Lasse Passage

Ingrid Berger Myhre is a choreographer and dancer currently based in Brussels. She participated in the Research Studios ’17-18 at P.A.R.T.S. (BE) and obtained a master’s degree in Choreography, Research and Performance from the ex.e.r.ce programme at the Choreographic Centre of Montpellier (FR).

Language and semiotics are central to her artistic work. Among others, she made the solo BLANKS and, more recently, Panflutes and Paperwork, a collaboration with composer Lasse Passage. Both pieces were selected for Aerowaves (2018 and 2020).

She is an associate choreographer at Dansateliers Rotterdam and is supported by the Netherlands Fund Performing Arts’ grant for new creators from 2019 – 2020.

Composer and recording artist Lasse Passage started studying composition at Griegakademiet in Bergen and went on to complete a BA in Sonology from the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague.

His compositional work is coloured by the electroacoustics and the rhythmical music but take shape through different mediums and expressions; acousmatic pieces, concept-based, sound installations, lo-fi electronics and alternative pop-music. This versatile approach has also brought him to be a frequent collaborator in the independent scene of dance and theatre.

Commissions in the recent years include a.o. percussion ensemble SISU, chamber group Alpaca, solo works for Kristine Tjøgersen and Ole-Martin Huser Olsen and the acousmatic piece Hei! which was selected for the New York Electroacoustic Music Festival in 2017. As a songwriter, his previous record Stop Making Sense and Start Making Success is being followed up in 2020 with the release of a new album titled Sunwards.
