Through two different calls, Superamas/Happynest – in the North of France – and BUDA with detheatermaker – in Flanders – each select three young artistic practices or recently graduated artists or collectives. Superamas do so as part of their annual call – Buda and detheatermaker launch a new call to final-year master’s students and organisations for talent development in the arts in Flanders and Brussels.

The project Shake your skills allows recently graduated artists or collectives to work together in a peer to peer group, in various residencies.

In capsule 1, the focus is on sharing the projects they want to work on and the knowledge and tools between young artists and artists with a slightly longer track record who are accompanying the residency. In this residency, the project wants to focus on a non-hierarchical transfer of knowledge, exchange of practical experiences and development of those métiers that are sometimes neglected in art education – sound design, scenography, costumes, dramaturgy, light, … In this residency, the project does not foresee individual residency time but focuses on working collectively on the questions, difficulties and inputs from the six different projects – from the expertise of the accompanying artists.

The accompanying artists are selected by Superamas/Happynest, Buda and detheatermaker on the basis of their expertise, their own (artistic) discourse and pedagogical interest.
