The first word of the first poem of the first collection is basket is a project of Kotomi Nishiwaki and Ondine Cloez. During this research residency, they will practice tankas, a short poetic form in thirty-one syllables. These tankas are an opportunity to open a conversations and practices around translation, memory and noise, and will become, later, a duet.

Kotomi and Ondine met twenty years ago while studying in PARTS. Since then they have been working for and together with many choreographer, artists, directors. A few years ago they started a research together starting from their common interest in poetry and translation. It has now become a creation called The first word of the first poem of the first collection is basket which will premiere in October in Brussels.
