Landing on Feathers, is a poetic short film, portraying human relationships through transparent communication and care within most intimate and close surroundings. The film opens the question of care and the dichotomy between ability/disability – caretaker and care receiver and where self-care takes its position.
Landing on Feathers is a documen-tation of human relationships, based on transparent communication and care for one another, in most intimate and close surroundings. In the film Jija Sohn and Aleksandra Lemm share their confrontation with limitations and challenges of their day to day lives, without excluding its inherent mundanity and rawness. They use performative tools to transcend and transform these challenges and to evoke a sense of playfulness and creativity. The artistic aspiration becomes a learning process, in which they start to recognise and question their own limitations on how they see dance, abilities, docility and how they look at the moving versus the still body.
The film is a starting point of our further artistic and social development and current project:Landing on Feathers – rehearsing the not yet(2022-23). After the screening they invite the audience to encounter in their embodiment practice that leads toward a conversation around care within our lives today.
