Internships

Looking for an exciting and educational challenge?

BUDA Arts Centre is always on the lookout for motivated interns who want to play an active role for a few months. Would you like to find out what goes on behind the scenes at an arts centre? How do we organise festivals such as NEXT? How do we develop communication campaigns, and how do we target specific audiences for a wide range of performances and film screenings? And what does it mean to ‘base our work on the needs of the artist’?

Curious? Take up an internship with our communications, audience engagement, production or technical teams! Send an email to info@buda.be

Volunteers

Film cashiers

Once a month, a cinema ticket clerk welcomes cinema-goers with a broad smile. You’ll be able to handle printing tickets, charging for drinks and helping visitors find their way around with ease… In exchange for your shift of around 2 hours, you’ll receive 2 free cinema tickets each time.

We currently have enough enthusiastic cinema ticket clerks.

Bar staff

As a bar assistant, you’ll mainly be helping us out during festivals and film screenings. You’re able to serve a large crowd with ease and are happy to help with the washing-up. We’re also always on the lookout for bar managers who can act as the point of contact at external events.

You’ll receive a volunteer allowance for this.

Interested? Mail to luna@buda.be

Kitchen volunteers

Every weekday, our kitchen volunteers ensure that the residents (artists working at BUDA) are served lunch. This usually consists of soup with bread and a spread or salad.

As a kitchen volunteer, you’ll receive a volunteer pass that gives you free entry to film screenings and theatre performances.

Fancy helping us out one day a week or every other week? Send an email to famke.struyve@buda.be

Facilitators of film education workshops at ‘Cinemaatjes’

BUDA organises workshops for children aged 3 to 12 in the film education installation, Mammoet. Your role:

  • You will guide a group of children (10 to 25) as they discover the wonderful world of film.
  • You will mainly do this on Sunday afternoons, and during the Christmas and spring half-term holidays (schedule to be agreed with other supervisors)
  • You will make full use of all the facilities at the Mammoet, but will also find it challenging to develop your own film education methods.

Your profile:

  • You are sociable, inspiring and good with children.
  • You have good communication skills and are flexible.
  • You are interested in new media and film.
  • You have experience in supervising a group of children.
  • You are frequently available on Sunday afternoons or on weekdays
