Volunteers
Film cashiers
Once a month, a film cashier welcomes our cinephile audiences with a broad smile. If you are familiar with printing tickets, charging clients for a drink, and generally helping visitors out, then this might be for you. In exchange for every 2-hour shift we offer you two free film tickets.
We currently have enough enthusiastic film cashiers.
Bar staff
As a bartender, you will help us out mainly during festivals and film specials. If a steady influx of visitors does not frighten you and you don’t mind washing the dishes, this might be for you. Also, we are always looking for bar personnel who can serve as contact persons during external events.
For this work, you are entitled to a volunteer fee.

Kitchen volunteers
Every weekday, our kitchen volunteers prepare lunch for our residents (the artists who work in BUDA). Most of the time this means soup with bread and a spread or a salad.
Kitchen volunteers receive a volunteer pass giving you free access to film screenings and performances.

Supervisors of educational film workshops during Cinemaatjes
In its educational installation cinéMammoth, BUDA organises workshops for children between 3 and 12 years old. CinéMammoth is an interactive studio in which children can create shadow puppets, work on their very own animated film, and discover how films are made using zoetropes, praxinoscopes and flipbooks.
Your position:
- You help a group of 10 to 25 children to discover the marvellous world of cinema.
- You work mainly on Sunday afternoons, and during Christmas and Spring breaks (the planning is made in agreement with your fellow supervisors)
- You make use of all the possibilities offered by the cinéMammoth , but you are always eager to develop your own educational methods.
Your profile:
- You are sociable, enthusiastic and like to interact with children.
- You have good communication skills and flexibility.
- You are interested in new media and film.
- You have previous experience supervising groups of children.
- You are frequently available on Sunday afternoons or on weekdays.
